You're not hopeless.

i went to see lost in translation in Orion's special screening last week.
it was magic.
i've seen the movie about 30680 times but never in a theatre.

in the dark i completely forgot about my surroundings and was kind of dazzled when i found myself standing on eerikinkatu instead of shibuya crossing after the movie.

shibuya crossing, someday.
running through the city at night, someday.
yes.

A M A Z I N G

haha, a fun night altogether. kind of hung out with this Russian guy who had bought flowers for the band. he told it was a common habit in Russia. the dj played Joy Division, Lou Reed and The Cure and a few people danced shyly. blonde redhead was fantastic. it was a good place to be, standing there in the middle of the crowd.

about last night's Heartbeats: it was très bien. everything from the posters to the soundtrack, the visual setting to the clothes. really inspiring and very close to my aesthetics.

tonight i saw Winter's Bone which was good, and later in the evening Armadillo, a documentary about danish soldiers in afghanistan. it was pretty upsetting as i had thought. the director janus metz was present at the screening and it was interesting to hear what he had to say about the film personally.
my head weights a ton. i've lost my voice. so don't call me. can't really communicate on the phone. or at all.
bonne nuit!

sunday soundtrack

i'm so excited about the new continentals ep! what's exciting too is that i got to spend a little time with these people last summer when i was in utah. oh yeah, it was fun! i was also lucky enough to see their live show! they are reeeally wonderful and incredibly talented.

a great day behind. we were running recklessly across the roads in downtown with fanni, sara and ville trying to escape the rain. it was fun and a bit hazardous too.

igår

first we went to see the movie 35 shots of rum with tomi. he fell asleep a few times during the movie and to be honest i had to struggle to stay awake too. too bad.
the night continued to korjaamo. big wave riders were pretty fantastic with their tina turner visuals and everything. a new favorite from finland, sweet!
i'm daydreaming about stockholm.

yay for today!

today has been wonderful.
i have no excuses when i tell you that i once again ended up in stupido. hah, nice try, elena.
the good news is that gemini is finally mine, i've been longing for the vinyl for long and today my patience was rewarded. wohoo!

everytime i go to stupido, i remember why it is my favorite record store in helsinki. everyone working there is so great. i always leave the store with the biggest smile on my face.

♥ the loveliest bank lady i chatted with for long. i don't really enjoy going to the bank; i get anxious because of all the waiting and am always kind of confused with everything but today this sweet young lady tried to sort out the problems with my credit card and we started talking about music and buying vinyls and cool record stores in london. how nice!
♥ excitement and inspiration are tickling my tummy!
♥ the night of the arts is tonight but i'm not really sure if i'm going. i was looking forward to it but now i'm so tired that curling up to the sofa sounds so much more tempting.
♥ fall. everything.
♥ this:

ooooh. i just want to cry because of sufjan's awesomeness.

and i guess i'll take care
and the next time that i'm there
i'll serve breakfast in bed
have to make sure you're well-fed
you're a movie star
midlake announced a show at tavastia in november (perfect) and my heart skipped a beat.
i will be there.

an epic three day party weekend behind, yeah! great music and good vibes - that was flow.
life tends to surprise us every once in a while forcing us to change our plans and weight our expectations. i have to be grateful i'm right here right now, i thought, watching the stars outside the tent stage. i'll never know what could have happened, but why should i?

+Anyone who understands how standing in a crowd of sweaty people, elbow to elbow, screaming along to the words embedded in your heart, can give you the most happiness ever needed and someone who knows it's okay to love something maybe a little too much, as long as it's real to you. -Anonymous

people have been very patient with me

i'm not afraid of change.
still, letting go is hard for me. i especially don't like goodbyes.

a year ago i found myself standing on the escalator, turning for the last look behind and seeing a weak wave behind the glass doors of the security check.

i remember waving back.
and then i remember being back to finland again.

this is how the sunrise looked that morning, somewhere above iceland.
the light changed so fast.

In the city their hearts start to sing, well, some people singing sounds like screaming.

i took this picture a few minutes after win had gotten lost in the crowd.
joyous and good looking people, a beautiful mid-summer night and one of the most amazing bands in the world history,
arcade fire.

the other night

wednesday night was so surreal.
the radio dept simply made me ooh and aah by playing all their best songs.

that's how perfect the city looked that night. so beautiful and quiet.
