yaaaa

my apologies for being the lousiest blogger ever.
tonight i just wanted to recommend you the movie la haine on yle teema. it tells about the anger and frustration in parisian suburbs. class tensions, racial tensions and riots. a great, documentary-like film with amazing black and white cinematography.

movie recommendation

last night, instead of wolf parade, i felt more like spending some QT with my momma.
we watched the talented mr. ripley, which we both love, as a kick-off to our movie marathon stretching over the next week.

10 days until my work starts...back to the real world then. i can feel a big weight on my shoulders already. even though it's probably ridiculous to think this way. it's just not something i want right now. la vie bohème is.
yes, i know.
i just want to hide.

You're not hopeless.

i went to see lost in translation in Orion's special screening last week.
it was magic.
i've seen the movie about 30680 times but never in a theatre.

in the dark i completely forgot about my surroundings and was kind of dazzled when i found myself standing on eerikinkatu instead of shibuya crossing after the movie.

shibuya crossing, someday.
running through the city at night, someday.
yes.

non plus one

i'm daydreaming about: Europe, another week of R&A, being -or at least sounding- intelligent when i speak, some Opening Ceremony in my closet, cuddling close to someone, MoMa, Met & Guggenheim, roadtrips with mix cds, night sky, endless supply of toy cameras and film, tap dancing, seeing Lost in Translation in a movie theatre, Russia, mad skillz, self-made sushi, cool posters on the wall, long walks around Helsinki, creativity, good hair days, being able to ride your bike anywhere, long nights & long mornings, something exhilarating to look forward to and having fun playing with sparklers.

ps. happy National Punctuation Day y'all! you may have noticed punctuation is something i'm really lazy at and i want to apologize for that. i've started capitalizing a bit though. so be patient with me, i'm getting there.

about last night's Heartbeats: it was très bien. everything from the posters to the soundtrack, the visual setting to the clothes. really inspiring and very close to my aesthetics.

tonight i saw Winter's Bone which was good, and later in the evening Armadillo, a documentary about danish soldiers in afghanistan. it was pretty upsetting as i had thought. the director janus metz was present at the screening and it was interesting to hear what he had to say about the film personally.
my head weights a ton. i've lost my voice. so don't call me. can't really communicate on the phone. or at all.
bonne nuit!

oui oui

my next two music purchases:

don't miss blonde redhead at virgin oil this friday!

R&A tonight: it's pretty crazy that i saw xavier dolan's i killed my mother only a year ago, and tonight i'm going to see his new movie les amours imaginaires/heartbeats. i read somewhere that he's already working on his third one. whoa, i can only admire this guy's work and talent.
yes. i am excited about tonight.

igår

first we went to see the movie 35 shots of rum with tomi. he fell asleep a few times during the movie and to be honest i had to struggle to stay awake too. too bad.
the night continued to korjaamo. big wave riders were pretty fantastic with their tina turner visuals and everything. a new favorite from finland, sweet!
i'm daydreaming about stockholm.
